Neste is introducing a new Neste ReNew™ lubricant product family in Finland, Sweden, the Baltic countries and Poland during the first quarter of 2023. The new lubricants are produced with renewable or re-refined base oils and high-quality additives. The solution offers Neste’s customers the opportunity to reduce their dependence on crude oil based products and take a step towards a more sustainable future also with their use of lubricants.

Previously available lightning insight only tells half a story when it comes to protecting against the significant damage done by lightning in the U.S. each year, according to Chris Vagasky, meteorologist and lightning expert for Vaisala Xweather. The company’s  innovation provides accurate data on the potential for damage from each lightning strike. Vagasky also used the improved data at the American Meteorological Society Annual Meeting today to finally answer a question causing debate amongst meteorologists: exactly how often does lightning strike in the U.S.?

The technology group Wärtsilä will supply its internal combustion engine technology for two new U.S. power plants. The order was placed by a major American investor-owned utility in the Upper Midwest. The Wärtsilä engines were selected primarily for their grid-balancing capabilities as the utility expands its integration of renewable energy, notably wind and solar. The order was booked into Wärtsilä’s order intake in November 2022.
