Hydraulic drive systems are now being applied to road construction equipment. In one of the first applications of its type, Hägglunds Drives Compact motors are being used by Rabaud, a French road construction machinery manufacturer.

An AC drive that combines accurate speed control and Direct Torque Control (DTC) with line braking for regenerative applications such as cranes, centrifuges and winding machines between 11 kW and 55 kW, is launched by ABB Industry Oy, Finland.

The Norwegian IT company EPM Technology (EPMT) has signed a collaboration agreement with British Aerospace to develop and commercialise an advanced IT tool for engineers, Visual-i SE, which will be owned and marketed by the Norweigan company. The goal is to complete the development of a commercial product in only 12 months by using the new software.
