PulPaper 2022, the international trade event for the forest industry, presents new innovative solutions and brings together forest industry professionals for discussions. All large Finnish forest industry companies will participate in the event. PulPaper will be arranged from Tuesday to Thursday 7 – 9 June 2022 at Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre.

The programme is presented at Future Square on the exhibition area and the event has two paid seminars, the PulPaper Conference and Green Economy Business Summit. Metso Outotec is launching a modular Converter Hood System for horizontal converter vessels used in the smelting process. The new system, which is suitable for greenfield and brownfield installations, has an impressive SO2 (sulfur dioxide) gas capture capability of 99%, minimizing the environmental impact. The modular design enables quick on-site assembly, so the system is ready to use with minimum plant downtime.

Together with its partner Nordic Marine Oil, Neste is piloting a new  Neste Marine™ 0.1 Co-processed  marine fuel in Scandinavia – a solution helping the maritime sector to reduce the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The ISCC PLUS certified* marine fuel enables up to 80%** GHG emission reduction over the lifecycle compared to fossil fuels without compromising the product quality and performance.

Metsä Board, part of Metsä Group, has awarded AFRY an assignment to deliver a digital solution, based on AFRY’s digital system platform, integrated with internal product logistics systems for its Husum mill in Sweden.

Valmet will deliver key technology areas for ORLEN Poludnie’s S.A. planned second generation bioethanol (B2G) plant in Jedlicze, Poland. The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) delivery includes a pretreatment BioTrac system with a capacity to process approximately 400 tons of dry straw per day, a BioPower 48 MWth lignin fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant and a Valmet DNA Automation system. 

Frode Laursen’s CSR report for 2021 details a reduction in CO2 emissions for both its transport and warehouse operations while describing the ongoing efforts to achieve its goal of a 35% reduction in CO2 emissions by 2030.
