Ericsson's Microsoft Mobile Venture development company has established global co-operation with Linq, one of Europe's leading developers of software products for corporate portals.The two companies will jointly run common development projects. One example is the adaptation of the LinqPortal mobile portal solution to Ericsson's Moso technology.

These are some of the advantages stated by Columbitech, a specialist company in wire-less computer communication, and portal company Linq, when announcing the conclusion of a long-term co-operative agreement. By combining products from both companies, they want to create an internationally interesting and common markets.

Stockholm 7 February 2001 - Columbitech, the wireless technology company specialising in solutions for secure wireless data communications, announce their partnership agreement with Corporate Portal supplier LINQ. The companies intend to mutually develop and offer integrated solutions on the international market.

LINQ, a Swedish specialist in company portal technology, will by means of a partnership agreement with OnePage of America be able to offer its clients the Portal Builder program for collecting and formatting data. The company claims that this will enable company portals to be supplied more rapidly and efficiently with information. This area of technology is growing fast, and a current Merrill Lynch report estimates a potential market of up to US$ 3 billion in the near future alone.

The Swedish company Malmqvist High Climber is showing a new series of modular work platforms, MA 2000, at the Bauma Trade Fair in Germany. Extensible beams make it easy to adapt the platforms to the shape of the facade, which among other things simplifies work below balconies and at the corners. The maximum lifting capacity is just over two tons.

A new development collaboration between the corporate portal specialist LINQ and the Belgian company Mobistar will make it possible for employees at user companies to communicate with the company's Microsoft Exchange Server via mobile telephones and other handheld units (PDAs), using GSM modems and the Pocket Office service based on LinqMobilizer. Reports suggest the solution is the first genuine WAP application for companies and means that e-mail, calendars, to-do lists and other Exchange functions can now be accessed on the move. The system is also GPRS-ready.

KPMG Consulting and the corporate portal company LINQ have entered into a collaborative partnership where KPMG is choosing to work with the LinqPortal software to achieve maximum productivity within large enterprises. Personally adapted digital workplaces will mean that it should be possible for companies to make better use of the skills their employees in this field possess and make the flow of information more efficient, i.e. Knowledge Management(KM).
