Dry-cleaning washing equipment and roller pressers at Expo Detergo

PRESS RELEASE
29 December 1995
Water-based system replaces dry-cleaning

Dry-cleaning can in many cases be replaced by a new, water-based cleaning system, claims Electrolux-Wascator, who will be demonstrating their AquaClean systems at Expo Detergo, the cleaning industry's exhibition, in Milan, mid-March 1996.
New cleaning equipment for launderettes will be shown for the first time, and the company will also be presenting two sizes of rotary ironers for use in hotel, hospital, and other types of laundry.

The AquaClean systems use the FLE120FC/220FC washer extractors and the TT270RMC/600RMC tumble dryers, and is based on the use of water plus special, environmentally-friendly detergents. These also contain biodegradable additives which prevent water being forced into the fibres of the fabric, thus preventing shrinkage and creasing of the material during drying.
The washer extractors and tumble dryers have drum volumes of 120/220 l and 270/600 l respectively. There is also auxiliary equipment, such as a tank system for recycling water or as a container for waterproofing agents.
For launderettes and service laundries, the company is offering its new 60-litre WE66MP washer extractor with the AWS weighing system. This machine can weigh the washload and then meter the amount of water used, saving not only water but also energy and detergent.
Along with this washer extractor goes the 165-litre, three-autoprogram TT166 tumble dryer. This machine switches itself off automatically when internal humidity falls to a given level, and is designed to match the washer extractor.
The IM4819 FFS rotary ironer for use in hotels and similar establishments is designed for large volumes of flat items such as bedsheets. It has a cylinder diameter if 48 cm and can handle lengths up to 190 cm, as well as being provided with built-in automatic feeding, weighing, and stacking functions. The machine is intended for one-person operation, and can be located against a wall for space saving./ins
