Cleaning concept based on liquid CO2 to innovate cleaning technology
Swedish Electrolux-Wascator has entered an agreement with the American company Global Technologies to develop a new cleaning technology. Based on the trademark Dry Wash process and the use of liquid CO2 as a cleaning solvent the new technology is aiming at reducing the environmental impact of current dry-cleaning processes.
Development of the new technology will be carried out by Electrolux-Wascator at its Swedish Development Center at Ljungby, where the company is developing and manufacturing industrial washer extractors. Apart from industrialization, the agreement includes marketing and sales of the new cleaning technology.Earlier this year Electrolux-Wascator was certified by Norske Veritas for the ISO 14001 environmental management system, as one of the first manufacturers within the industrial laundry industry to achieve such certification.
The company early proved its environmental concern, when launching a water based supplement to dry-cleaning called AquaClean in 1992, Up till now more than 1,000 such systems have been sold worldwide.
Electrolux-Wascator is the industrial laundry systems division of publicly quoted AB Electrolux, a global appliance manufacturer. Dry Wash is a trademark.
