/INS. The latest Konecranes built-up trolley crane, known as UNITON, is a robust overhead crane, which has been developed in close cooperation between Konecranes customers and Konecranes industry experts & engineers. The outcome is a rugged construction concept, which is suitable for process duty applications in a variety of industries, such as Steel, Mining, Automotive, or in Shipyards.

/INS. Many small steps add up to large ones. That’s a simple way to sum up Iggesund Paperboard’s environmental work. It is easy to give examples of Iggesund’s multi-million euro investments and their importance. But the company also makes many smaller investment decisions which have important environmental aspects. One of these is the wooden bridge that links the mill at Iggesund with the wastewater purification facility on the adjacent island of Skälön.

/INS. When Iggesund Paperboard challenged the world’s designers to create better and more sustainable consumer packaging the result was almost 200 design proposals. The company has now selected three of these to receive a reward and also opened a dialogue with more designers about being able to use their creations in various contexts.

Gerd Rosendahl (58) has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of CIMOS dd, headquartered in the Slovenian town of Koper, as of 1 July 2015. His most recent role was Managing Director/President of Fischer Automotive in the US, having already gained decades of experience in the automotive supply industry, including spells at ISE Innomotive Systems Europe and Dura Automotive. As the new CEO of CIMOS, Gerd Rosendahl will drive forward the expansion of the company’s European business. Having successfully completed restructuring work as part of self-administered insolvency proceedings, CIMOS recently unveiled plans for a growth offensive.

/INS. Finland’s biggest dairy company, Valio, recently boosted the production of its Lapinlahti whey powder plant with over 10 percent by implementing the proprietary NAPCON Controller solution (Advanced Process Control, APC) from the technology and engineering company Neste Jacobs. The results were so convincing that Valio now in a similar way is optimizing a milk powder plant in Seinäjoki, Finland, consisting of both an evaporator and a spray dryer.

/INS. Iggesund Paperboard is taking major steps to further develop its delivery service. The company will now expand its long-term cooperation with SCA, which dates from 1995. As of summer 2016 about 1,000,000 tonnes of paperboard, paper and pulp will be shipped annually via the new transport link to and from Kiel. Together SCA and Iggesund have the necessary volumes to create cost-effective transport solutions with a high service level to continental Europe. The change involves the vessels and also a new main terminal in Germany.
