/ins    Fazer is committed to continuing the creation of sustainable solutions for the benefit of people and the environment, and packages have their own role to play in this. In 2018, Fazer and Sulapac kicked off a collaboration project with the aim of researching, developing and testing microplasticfree, compostable packaging solutions for foodstuffs. Fazer is the first company with which Sulapac has engaged in the product development of food packaging. The first output of the collaboration – a box containing Fazer’s traditional handmade pralines – will become available at the end of November.

/ins   The winner of the 20 th international Swedish Steel Prize is Shape Corp. from the United States. The prize is awarded for the groundbreaking use of martensitic steel in a 3D formed tube for automotive roof rail applications.

/ins   For the 20th time SSAB hosts the Swedish Steel Prize event on November 12-14, 2019. The Swedish Steel Prize is an international award for companies, institutions and individuals in the steel industry. Since 1999, it has been recognizing and rewarding those that have developed a method or product that fully utilizes the potential of premium steels.

/ins Cutting narrow incisions with ultra-high precision in high density materials using waterjet technology requires a specific waterjet cutting process: the Fine Abrasive Waterjet process (FAWJ). The first FAWJ cutting head was developed by Water Jet Sweden in 2008.

/ins   For developing a unique manufacturing process and a lightweight solution for A-pillar and roof rail tubes in cars, Shape Corp. has been nominated for the Swedish Steel Prize 2019.

/ins   A new combi wall at the Port of Gdańsk, Poland, begun in February 2019, will result in a new wharf by 2020 that will be 1,220 meters (4,000 feet) long. The most important part of the wharf, the steel piles, came from SSAB.­

/ins   For developing an innovative roofing product that successfully combines a highly effective solar panel with an architecturally attractive and environmentally friendly steel roof, Roofit.solar has been nominated for the Swedish Steel Prize 2019.
