Faster product design with new verification simulator

PRESS RELEASE
15 October 1996
Faster electronic product
design verification with
new accelerated simulator

A new version of Ikos Systems' accelerated Verilog-XL simulation solution, gives designers of complex electronics access to the speed and capacity of NSIM, the company's hardware accelerator.
Gemini CSX Version 1.2, allows
users to move memories and structural portions of a Verilog design to the hardware accelerator and maintain full access to the debug capabilities of Verilog-XL from anywhere in the design hierarchy, Ikos reports.

Larry Melling, Ikos' VP of Marketing stated, "The enhancements in Gemini CSX, version 1.2, are the culmination of a joint development program. Precedence Inc.'s SimMatrix simulation backplane technology, combined with Gemini CSX, results in a multi-feature, accelerated solution for Verilog-XL users." Gemini CSX supports platforms including Sun SPARC and Solaris workstations, and Hewlett-Packard HP9000 Series workstations.
Version 1.2 is claimed to be of specific value to designers who need the fastest possible Verilog HDL simulation. Kevin Jorgenson, VP of Marketing
at Precedence noted that "Continued tuning of the SimMatrix backplane algorithms, and a close working relationship with the Ikos Gemini team, has enabled major advances in functionality, platform support and performance."

Gemini CSX compiler option
Also announced is the Gemini Compiler, which is an option to the Gemini CSX product, and allows users to prepare Verilog-XL designs for simulation, whilst concurrently running regression tests for other designs on the NSIM design accelerator. This meets the need to complete the verification cycle quickly and cost effectively. Both products were demonstrated at EDA&T in Taipei, Taiwan; and in Seoul, Korea in September 1996.
Ikos Systems Inc. specializes in the development and manufacture of language based software and hardware simulation tools. The company's products are designed to reduce product development cycles for complex, high performance systems containing multiple ASICS and full custom ICs. The company is headquartered in Cupertino, California, USA, and supports direct sales offices, distributors and representatives worldwide.
Precedence Inc. is a developer of co-simulation solutions for designers of electronic integrated circuits, printed circuit boards and systems. It distributes its solutions worldwide. The company is a wholly owned, independent subsidiary of
