IKOS Systems announces record Japanese sales
and appoints director of Asian operations

California based IKOS Systems Inc. announces the appointment or Mr. Terrance Reid as director of its Asian operations. Mr. Reid also takes charge of the company's Japanese subsidiary, IKOS Systems KK in Kawasaki.
Working closely with the company's long time Japanese distributor, Itochu Techno Science, and with other distributors in Asia, he will be responsible for technical and sales support in the region, where the company is experiencing rapid sales growth.

The appointment coincides with an announcement that sales in Japan almost doubled in the year ended December 31, 1995. Total worldwide earnings for the quarter ended December 30, 1995, also showed a record increase in revenue of 52 percent over the same quarter last year, marking the tenth successive quarter of gains. Ramon Nuñez, IKOS' president, attributes the increase to global demand for high performance verification tools, as manufacturers of complex ASICS strive to meet stringent time to market requirements.
Founded in 1984, IKOS Systems Inc. specializes in the development and manufacture of language based software and hardware simulation tools for complex electronics designs. Taiwanese distributor appointed
for high level, ASIC design verification tools

California based IKOS Systems Inc. has appointed Maojet Technology Corp. as its distributor in Taiwan R.O.C. The local company will market, sell and support IKOS' high performance, language based, simulation tools to Taiwan's designers of complex integrated circuits.
Specially trained Maojet personnel will provide local access to a high level of technical assistance, the company states.

The announcement coincides with news that sales in Taiwan for the year ending December 31, 1995 reached almost US$500,000, compared with US$40,000 for the previous year. Ramon Nuñez, IKOS' president attributes the increase to strong global demand for high performance verification tools, as manufacturers of complex ASICS strive to meet stringent, time to market requirements.
Also announced is the appointment of Mr. Terrance Reid as director of Asian operations. Mr. Reid will be based at IKOS Systems KK., in Kawasaki, Japan. In close cooperation with the Asian distributors, he will be responsible for technical and sales support in the region, where the company is experiencing strong sales growth.
Maojet Technology, located in Taipei, is a rapidly growing distributor of electronic design automation tools, and is a recognized leader in marketing, sales, technical support and service in the computer and semiconductor industries, according to Ted Tsai, general manager.
The company will market IKOS' Voyager Series for VHDL design verification, together with the Gemini CSX for Verilog designs, a mixed level simulator which is based on high performance, co-simulation technology from IKOS and Precedence. Gemini CSX merges these two sources to produce a transparent, optimized interface between the Verilog-XL environment and the IKOS hardware accelerator.
