Compact, high-performance pneumatic valve

A flow rate of 300 Nl/min, low weight, and a width of only 10 mm are the main features of Compact 10, the new electrically-controlled pneumatic valve from Rexroth Mecman Pneumatics. It has the capacity to drive cylinders of up to 63 mm diameter, and can therefore replace many larger valves in applications where low weight and external dimensions are critical.
A 10-valve module measures only 163 mm and can easily be mounted on a standard DIN rail. Protection class IP 67 also means it is the only valve on the market that can be used on machinery exposed to fluids.
This new valve, which comes in both 5/2 and 5/3 types, has a reaction time of only 6 ms and can work at pressures ranging from -1 to +10 bar. Power consumption is 1.2 W.

Compact 10 is one of a new series of pneumatic valves intended for control of cylinders in assembly equipment, printing and textile machinery, as well as in the food, medical and electronic industries.
The valve is available with a range of pneumatic and electrical connector options. There is a single valve as well as two different valve modules with air connections on the top or at the side. Valve manifolds, which are function tested and ready for direct mounting on machines, are equipped with multicore cable (IP 67) or D-SUB (IP 50), as well as with interface to a BUS system (Interbus S and Profibus) or via individual electrical connection (IP 50).
The valve is factory-lubricated for life and needs no additional lubrication, thus improving the working environment. Outlet air from the main or pilot valves is collected in the valve module and can be either led away or vented via a silencer.
