INS office in Great Britain

PRESS RELEASE
5 January 1996
International News Service AB
of Stockholm Opens UK Office

The value of carefully structured and targeted press releases to export markets is of increasing importance as the global economy becomes a reality. Whether it is part of a search for new distribution or to support existing trading partners, media relations are forming an ever increasing part of the international marketing mix.

INS AB has vast experience in working with clients in a number of countries with offices in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Germany and the USA. The international network handles some 600 press campaigns each year. The company is now expanding its service by opening an office in Leicester.
The foundation of the INS success story has been the database of over 27,000 journals around the world in every area of interest that the company has developed and continues to expand. Working from a release supplied by the client or put together by the local INS office, the company translates the copy into the necessary languages using technically qualified native speakers. A target list of magazines is prepared for the countries that have been selected and the release is then circulated.
According to David Margetts, the partner responsible for INS operations in the UK, it is a marvellous way of supporting local distributors. "Not only do the local people appreciate the support that they get from the principals, it also gives the supplier control over the information and marketing of the products in any market he chooses. For the manufacturer it represents one of the most cost-effective and dynamic ways of promoting his products and services."
Thanks to the experience that INS has built up over the years and the repuation with the international media that this has generated, the company is confident that it can offer an effective service. Lars Holmgren, the Managing Director of the Swedish Head Office, explains: "When a press release arrives on an editorĀ“s desk from INS, he or she knows that it is newsworthy, has been translated properly and is relevant to his or her readers. This greatly enhances the likelihood that it will be published. We ask the editor to send us a reply paid card if he intends publishing the piece. That way we can advise the client who in turn can tell his people in the market."

The agreement comes into effect from 1 January 1996.
