Trelleborg indtroduces a unique fluid hose

Trelleborg's new fluid hose Scirocco-II is now on show. According to the manufacturer, a unique technical solution enables the conveyed material to float inside the hose.

Scirocco-II is designed for transport of dry materials in powder form, such as cement, fly ash, micro silica powder and limestone. These materials usually require large amounts of energy and space when using conventional systems, but not with Scirocco-II.

"Our technical solution means that air is blown in through the hose wall so that the material builds a fluidizing bed, in other words it floats inside the hose. When the hose is at a certain gradient, the material runs through it with the help of gravity. It is not a pneumatic transportation method, and it requires no great input of energy," says Jörgen Jensen, Project Manager at Trelleborg Industri.

Leading in development and manufacture
of industrial hoses
Following the acquisition of the French rubber company CMPP and its well-known Kléber trademark, Trelleborg has strengthened its position as a global supplier of customised hose solutions. Development and manufacturing are based in Sweden and France at two of the world's largest and most advanced factories.

"Our range includes hoses for all applications and environments, from food to chemicals," explains Kenneth Henriksson, Marketing Manager for Industrial Rubber Sweden at Trelleborg Industri.
