"New roofboxes from Thule"

PRESS RELEASE
November 1, 1995
Now recyclable:
Wealth of new roof box
features from Thule

A new generation of aerodynamically designed roof boxes is just one of the items of news from Thule. All the company's roof boxes are now made
of 100% recyclable material, and most of them feature a new double-action opening mechanism and a simplified fastening system that make them
even simpler to fit and even easier to use.

The new Alpine range of roof boxes, with their aerodynamic design, feature a number of practical refinements. They have been subjected to careful testing in wind tunnels, and the results can be seen in their drop-shaped basic design with minimum sectional area. The patented central locking system, too, has much in its favour, and means that a
box need only be locked at one point. The key cannot be removed until the locks have engaged at all three points, guaranteeing that the box really is completely closed.
A double-action mechanism, the Dual-Force System, makes it easier to both open and close boxes. During opening, the

mechanism pushes the lid upwards. During closing, it helps to bring the lid down into position.
Another practical new feature is the variable fastening system, which makes it easier to adjust a box to a vehicle's load carrier system without the need to adjust the position of the load bars.
The Alpine roof boxes are in silver/dark grey, and are available in three sizes with capacities ranging between 310 and 465 litres.
The boxes in the black Classic range feature the company's patented Dual-Side opening system, which means that they can be opened from either side. The system not only makes for improved accessibility, it also means that two boxes can be used side by side on the roof.
The Classic boxes, too, feature variable fastening and the double-action Dual-Force opening mechanism. Both Alpine and Classic boxes come with a three-year warranty.
The company's well-known Magic boxes are now also available in elegant red and a black metallic look. They are made of EcoComp Exclusive UV-resistant ABS, a material that is 100% recyclable.
On the ecological side, Thule has taken a welcome initiative in undertaking to recycle, free of charge, any of its boxes that are delivered or sent in to
the newly opened Recycling Center at its production plant in Neumarkt, Germany./ins
