Business Concept
The company is involved in the world-wide marketing of a comprehensive range of sauna and related products for use in the leisure industry and in the home.

History
The company's origins lie with the heart of any sauna - the heating element. Originally named El-spiraler AB, the company specialised in manufacturing these components gradually broadening its range to cover complete installations.

The founder and owner, Sven-Olof Jansson, set up Tylö AB as a private company about forty years ago initially making heating elements by hand. He remains president and managing director of the company.

Product Range
The company is one of the leading international manufacturers of sauna, steam showers and steam room equipment that ranges from cabins, heaters to control systems, and includes a wide range of accessories.

Steam products were added to the company's traditional sauna range during the 1980s and this has evolved into a complete range of steam generators and steam rooms.

Turnover and Employment
Today, the company has a turnover of around 150 m SEK and is growing at a rate of around 15 per cent annually due to increasing interest in health and leisure activities.
The company employs 100 people at its headquarters and manufacturing plant at Halmstad in Sweden. It has a wholly-owned sales subsidiary in Norway.

Markets World-Wide
The company distributes its products in 65 countries world-wide. It is estimated to have 80 per cent of the Swedish market for saunas and related equipment and a growing presence world-wide with 75 per cent of its products exported.

Sales and Marketing
The company normally sells its products to importers or through its dealer network. It also has a comprehensive support package for distributors to help with marketing in each country.

Manufacturing
To ensure quality, the entire product range offered -from accessories to complete systems- is manufactured only by Tylö itself. Many of its components conforming to recognised international standards. Manufacturing of all products takes place at Halmstad in Sweden.
