Acotec Ltd is a Finnish company dedicated to increasing productivity in the building and construction industry. This is achieved by supplying production systems and know-how for cost-efficient prefabrication of concrete panels.

Brief history
The company was founded in 1986 and is part of the 130-year-old Finnish Rake Group. Due to the demand for speedy construction, the main market area has until today been South East Asia.

Products
Acotec develops, manufactures, markets and delivers a complete range of production lines for prefabrication of both non load-bearing and load-bearing concrete wall elements. The basic Acotec Primo line is designed for production of non reinforced panels, suitable for end use as partition walls, houses, fences, sound barriers, wet areas, industrial walls, and other applications. With the production lines Acotec Forte and Acotec Grande, it is possible to produce reinforced panels for load bearing structures in house building and landscaping applications.

Organization and markets
The company has its headquarters in Hollola/Lahti in Southern Finland. The company's strategy is based on networking in order to achieve maximum effectiveness and flexibility.
Marketing and sales is carried out by the company itself and through representatives. The main market lies in South East Asia, where the company is represented in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, China, Malaysia and Singapore. In addition to installations in most of these countries, there are also Acotec production lines in Japan, Finland and Germany.
Technical support and service is carried out through a network of local and international companies or by own service personnel.

Turnover and personnel
The personnel at the head office amount to 24 employees, while the number of people in every day business comprises approximately 80 people. In 1997, sales were FIM 60 million (approx. USD 12 million).

Ownership
Finnish Group Rake Ltd today owns a 92.6% share of the company. The remaining 7.4% is owned by the employees of Acotec Ltd.

Future
By expanding the company's product range and entering new markets, Acotec expects a substancial growth of operations in the future./ins
