Non-voice revolution:
The world’s first hard copy messenger for mobile users of Internet, e-mail and fax

More and more people are enjoying the freedom of instant hardcopies of Internet, e-mail and fax communi-cations. Likewise, more work is being performed out of the office as telecommuting gains in popularity. To satisfy this new kind of mobility, the first briefcase-portable transmitter and receiver of Internet, e-mail and fax hard copies has been launched.

The Possio Messenger PM 80 is said to be the world’s first mobile message printer to fulfil the demands of a mobile society. Weighing in at just 1700 grammes including a 15 meter long paper roll, and with a stand-by operation of several weeks, the unit is 289 x 149 x 49 mm large making it fully briefcase portable and easy to use just about anywhere.
The Possio Messenger is designed to be compatible with all major GSM, DCS and PCS cellular phones via a PC-card. Operation is through easy-to-use soft numerical and function keys and a built in WWW browser. There is also a built in IR sensor which allows cordless communication with mobile phones and communicators. The listed retail price in February 1997 will be USD 1,600.
Swedish-based System Innovation, established in 1980, develops, manufactures and markets state-of-the-art hardcopy communications technology and created the first portable hardcopy fax terminal for GSM communications./ins
