More ink cartridges loaded
through new collaboration

The Swedish company Environment AB EVM has, together with the Dutch Accutone Europe BV, formed a joint venture company: Tonerfill Imaging Scandinavia AB.
The new, jointly-owned company, recycles and markets laser and ink cartridges as well as toner kits for printers, fax machines and copiers.

'The difference between Environment's and Tonerfill's activities is that the latter is geared towards retailers and distributers while Environment also works with the final customer,' explains Björn Brewitz, at present the managing director of both companies.
The partnership with Accutone Europe will give Scandinavian consumers a broader product range, a better return system and quality, and lower prices. The collaboration will also be of benefit to the environment.
'By using one another's resources, both in terms of expertise and technology, we can force costs down. At the same time, the volumes in Europe give us the advantages of large-scale operation,' says Björn Brewitz, and he points to the fact that Accutone Europe handles 500,000 cassettes per year compared with Environment's Scandinavian turnover of 75,000 cassettes.
Accutone Europe has also gone a long way in the field of environment, which will now be of benefit to the Swedish market.
'We shall be keeping a close eye on the environmental aspects even at the supply stage. Moreover, a broad, complementary product range will bring a greater exchange of used cassettes - and thus a higher level of recycling,' says Björn Brewitz.

More recycling centres
The large volumes require more recycling centres and the new company is therefore planning its own plants in Finland, Denmark and Norway.
Environment currently has manufacturing units in Sweden while Accutone Europe has units in Holland, Great Britain, France, Germany and in Asia.
'The collaboration should be seen as a first step towards a complete merger of the businesses. The customers and the environment will both benefit,' concludes Björn Brewitz./ins
