Salo, Finland, Loglift Jonsered has added a new design of cabin to its J1080 crane for truck-mounted timber
handling operations. Providing double slewing cylinders for durability in arduous forestry applications, the
cabin-equipped crane provides a safe and comfortable environment for high productivity in adverse weather conditions.

The J1080 crane provides a significant advance in capability to its predecessor, the popular J1020. A new design of boom with a powerful double slewing system provides an improved power-to-weight ratio, and high torque for handling timber in difficult working environments. The crane is available in two variants, with an outreach of 7,9 or 9,6 metres, and lifting capacity of 108 or 103 kNm respectively. Both variants can deliver their full lifting capacity on slopes of up to 10 degrees.

The addition of a cabin significantly enhances user comfort, and aids productivity. The cabin mounts high on the crane, and features narrow front pillars for excellent visibility. It also has both front and side doors for easy access in all usage situations. Standard equipment includes roof-mounted halogen lights, a skylight, and an ergonomic heated seat with multiple adjusters and tilting backrest. It can be supplied with either digital electronic joystick controls, or Loglift Jonsered's patented MF mechanical lever controls. This latest version of the cabin is lighter than its predecessor, helping to minimise fuel costs for timber transport operators who carry the crane on the truck.

As with all Loglift Jonsered cranes, the durability of the design is a key factor, and the J1080 timber handling crane is classified to the demanding HC1 and S4 levels for service life and handling dynamic forces. This capability stems from many unique design features, including a high-specification hydraulic system, and forged steel bases and pillar bottoms which provide an extremely strong platform for the boom.
