Stora Enso is an integrated forest products company producing packaging boards, magazine papers, newsprint and fine papers, areas in which the Group is a global market leader. The Group also has extensive sawmilling operations. Stora Enso had EUR 13.5 billion of sales in the year 2001 and about 15 million tonnes of annual paper and board production capacity. Some 43,000 persons are employed in more than 40 countries and the company's shares are listed in Helsinki, New York and Stockholm.

Stora Enso Packaging Boards - Providing Packaging Solutions Worldwide
Stora Enso´s consumer packaging boards are used for liquid, food service and dry food applications as well as for cigarette, cosmetics packaging and graphical end uses. The company is the largest producer world-wide in liquid packaging boards and the leading producer of food service and special food packaging boards. With its integrated coating capacity Stora Enso Packaging Boards is the biggest producer of polymer coated boards in Europe. For other carton and graphic businesses the Group produces a wide range of boards made of primary fibres such as coated SBS boards, Performa CTMP boards, folding boxboards and a number of recycled boards. Stora Enso´s annual production capacity is 3.5 million tonnes of packaging boards, coreboards and speciality papers, 315,000 tonnes of corrugated packaging, and 175,000 tonnes of cores. Stora Enso´s main board and speciality paper markets are Europe, North America and Asia.
The main emphasis in product development is to provide customers novel packaging solutions by utilizing the synergy of the widest board selection in the market with unique polymer coating options. Stora Enso is actively driving joint R&D projects with industry and universities to meet the needs of fast changing markets.
