Konecranes is expanding its range of workstation lifting systems with newly developed SLX electric chain hoists. The new models with integrated hoisting inverter ensure processes are more efficient and faster – thanks to variable hoisting speed and automatic load recognition. Benefits include greater ease of use, a boost in productivity and a longer crane service life. The SLX electric chain hoists can be used in standalone applications, such as assembly cells for the processing industry, as well as in workstation cranes.

The majority of parts traditionally made from plastics are replaced with high quality, safe and durable biomaterials, UPM Formi and UPM Grada, which can significantly improve the overall environmental performance of car manufacturing. The Biofore Concept Car is designed and manufactured by students from the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

/INS. (UPM, Helsinki, 27.2.2014 at 14.00) – The first fleet tests of UPM’s renewable diesel proved that UPM BioVerno works in cars just as well as any regular diesel. The fleet tests were conducted by the VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. They were started in May last year and ran until early 2014.
