Responding to strong Asian demand for its economical "just in time" kraft paper packaging systems, US supplier Ranpak Corp. has opened a new regional sales office in Singapore.

A long-term, pan-European, agreement on supplies of industrial laundry equipment has been signed between Electrolux Laundry Systems and the Textile Service Division of Denmark's Sophus Berendsen Group, a leading service company that operates more than 60 laundries in Europe.

An improved working environment and lower energy and maintainance costs are just some advantages of a new facade construction, called Ecofacade,which fronts the Finnish telecom company Nokia's new head office in Espoo, near Helsinki. The futuristic architecture of the building is also intended to strengthen the high-tech image of one the world's leading IT and telecommunication groups. The innovative double facade construction is based on a metal frame made of stainless steel tubes supplied by the Finnish company, Stala Oy and is said to be the world's largest of its kind.

Four blowers from the company's turbo blower range for aeration, known as Exvel Bio, are now in operation at the Glenelg waste-water treatment plant in Adelaide, Australia.

A new metro car – Vagn 2000 – is now being launched on the international market.The ride is very comfortable and the noise level is low, according to manufacturer Adtranz Sweden.Passengers are informed about the current station via electronic signs and loudspeakers.
