The company is a leading producer on the global market for Advanced High-Strength Steels (AHSS) and Quenched & Tempered Steels (Q&T), strip, plate and tube products, as well as construction solutions. SSAB’s steels and services help to make end products lighter and increase their strength and lifespan.

SSAB has a cost-efficient and flexible production system. SSAB’s production plants in Sweden, Finland and the US have an annual steel production capacity of approximately 8.8 million tonnes. The company also has capacity to process and finish various steel products in China, Brazil and many other countries. In Sweden and Finland, production is integrated into a blast furnace process. In the US, electric arc furnaces are used for a scrap-based production process.

Belaz wins Swedish Steel Prize 2014

/INS. This year’s winner of the international Swedish Steel Prize is Belaz from Belarus. The prize was awarded for the company’s innovative and new construction for axle suspension and slewing bearings for the world’s largest dump truck. The new construction takes full advantage of the properties of high-strength steel.

Ruukki showcases Ramor protection steels at DVD2014 in Millbrook, Bedfordshire

/INS. Ruukki, a European steel manufacturer and supplier, is exhibiting its Ramor protection steels at the DVD2014 exhibition in Millbrook, Bedfordshire on 25-26 June 2014. Ramor protection steels are for applications where high ballistic resistance or blast protection is required. Ramor is mostly used for armoured vehicles, doors and systems for transporting valuables. Ramor 450 is Ruukki’s latest protection steel for the manufacture of armoured vehicles and now enables steel for the entire armoured vehicle frame to be sourced from the same manufacturer.

Ruukki, a leading manufacturer of wear-resistant Raex and high-strength Optim steels, will be exhibiting at the Tip-ex 2014 fair on 29 – 31 May 2014.  Use of Ruukki’s special steel products in customer applications translates into more value using less material. For the customer, this means lighter vehicle structures that save energy, reduce emissions and prolong life cycles in applications requiring wear-resistance.
