SWE-DISH Satellite Systems is seeing growth in sales towards broadcasters within Eastern Europe. Since late autumn SWE-DISH has sold equipment to TV Pink in Serbia, ABC+ Media in Rumania and TV6 in Russia, with a total value of over 8 million SEK.

Founded in 1995 TV Pink is the first privately owned fully commercial TV channel in Belgrade, Serbia. The company now moves into the field of mobile satellite communications by acquiring a fully equipped DSNG vehicle (Digital Satellite News Gathering) and a 150K Fly-Away satcom system. In addition, a second fully equipped DSNG vehicle has been sold to ABC+ Media, a newly founded privately owned TV channel in Romania.

"We see great progress in Eastern Europe, for our business as well as for the broadcasting market. Our market is definitively expanding. Our deals with TV Pink and ABC+ Media are also a result of a successful effort at the broadcasting show IBC Europe earlier this autumn. Both deals were made at the exhibition in Amsterdam, which gave us a really nice conclusion to the show", says Per Wahlberg, Executive Vice President, SWE-DISH Satellite Systems.

SWE-DISH has also sold a 150K Drive-Away satcom system and a 150K Fly-Away satcom system to TV6, the largest independent TV station in Russia. The station is led by a group of journalists who left NTV Television in 2001 and TV6 is expected to reach over 10 percent of the total population of viewers in Russia today.

"We have gained several Russian customers over the last couple of years. TV6, with its base in Moscow, is among the leaders on the Russian television market and now with every regional broadcaster within the CIS region looking at Moscow for further development, it is a great opportunity for our further expansion", concludes Per Wahlberg.
