SWE-DISH Satellite Systems was recently named in the second annual 'Tornado Insider 100' list as one of Europe's top emerging private tech companies. SWE-DISH Satellite Systems, headquartered in Stockholm, was founded in 1994 by Per Wahlberg and Markus Selin and specializes in mobile satellite communications equipment.

"We are very pleased that our efforts have been recognized by Tornado Insider," said Per Dahl, CEO of SWE-DISH. "We have a great team who has developed unique products and we are proud to be recognized as one of the of the Tornado Inside Top 10 most promising Private Technology Companies in Europe."
The list, which will be detailed in the summer issue of Tornado Insider magazine due in July, will profile SWE-DISH and the other 99 most promising and innovative emerging companies in the European IT and biotech sectors. As being one of the Top 10, Mr Dahl has been invited to present SWE-DISH at the award conference in Holland June 24th.
"These companies are the elite of Europe," said Timothy Weeks, Tornado Insider's Senior Research Analyst. "They have clearly demonstrated that the technology they are commercializing today will change the way things are done tomorrow."
The selection of SWE-DISH and the rest of the top 100 was narrowed from thousands of candidates and judged by the following criteria:
· Delivering an innovation that shows the promise of setting new standards.
· Introducing a major new audience.
· Supplying a key piece of the ICT infrastructure.
· Commanding a significant customer base.
· Having the potential to become a global brand or standard.
· Influencing a major market.
· Receiving a significant amount of funding.
· Having a strong valuation for a future IPO.




The companies selected had to also meet the requirement of selling products that match their marketing promises as well as exhibit an ability of utilizing their funding in the most effective manner. Indicative of this years 'follow the money' philosophy, biotech and Israel were included in this year's list.
