Compact headset adapter increases productivity and caller satisfaction in ACD call centers
A headset adapter for call centers that use ACD (automatic call detection) systems with the "Representative Not Available" (RNA) feature has been introduced by U. S. company Plantronics, Inc. The new Model E10 incorporates the RNA feature which automatically informs the ACD system when a call center agent leaves the console. This allows the system to automatically route incoming calls to available personnel, saving time and improving caller satisfaction.
This adapter joins the company's broad range of headsets and communications products designed for all segments of the call center industry."Our products are designed to increase user productivity by providing the highest levels of comfort, dependability and sound quality," said David Kitano, Plantronics' Vice President of Sales for Asia/Pacific and Latin America.
Models for comfort and special needs
Plantronics products include headsets in headband, over-the-ear and earbud configurations, as well as models for use with mobile phones and computers. Most have features to improve sound quality in noisy environments. Adapters in addition to the new model are compatible with single- and two-line telephones for small business and home office use, as well as most major business telephone and call center systems. Wireless adapters are available.
Functional and portable
Small and lightweight, the new E10 adapter provides the functionality of a desktop unit in a package that can be worn on the body. Placing the adapter on the belt or a lanyard reduces desk clutter and the ten-foot coil cord cable allows the user greater freedom of movement.
Operating features include a mute switch and recessed volume control, as well as SoundGuard Plus and Call Clarity technologies designed to enhance sound quality.
Major users express satisfaction
Telstra, the largest supplier of telecommunications services in Australia, uses the company's headsets in its many of its call centres.
"Plantronics was chosen as a headset supplier to Telstra because their products meet our strict internal requirements," said Gus Martonhelyi, product manager, Customer Premises Equipment, Telstra Corporation Ltd. "The levels of ongoing service and support from the manufacturer and their local distributor have been excellent."
