Power to Weight ratio puts breaker in class of its own

The latest model from Atlas Copco Construction Tools completes the company's solid body breaker range. With a power of 600 joules and a weight of 290 kg, the new model offers one of the highest power to weight ratio's in its class, says the company.

Delivering more power per weight has been the goal of the company in the development of the Solid Body Concept, SBC. As a reflection of that fact, the new addition to breaker range has been designated the SBC 600 to emphasise the importance of power in breaking applications."It is the joules that does the work for you, not the weight of the machine", points out Anders Bolmström, product line manager at Atlas Copco Construction Tools.

Benefits of solid body concept
In addition to unrivalled power-to-weight ratio performance, the benefits of the solid body concept, pioneered by the company, is compactness, quieter and more reliable operation that has become the hallmark of the existing breaker range.
The SBC 600 replaces the existing TEX 250H breaker and completes the solid body concept for models in the 50 to 400 kg weight range. It has been designed to work with excavators in the range 5-10 tonnes and backhole loaders of 3-10 tonnes.
The short, compact design allows access in confined spaces and daily maintenance is reduced dramatically through the provision for auto-greasing. As for its other breakers, this rig-mounted model comes in two versions - the standard H model and the HS, a silenced type.
