Company Profile
Business idea
From the outset, Bewator has worked with the product concept ‘simple to use and install’. This has given the company a leading position on the market for the control of locks and keyless locking – a position which they have strengthened in recent years by becoming European leaders among suppliers of access control systems.
History
Bewator was set up in 1977 and began by developing and selling one of the first code locks on the market. The time was ripe for the product, and the company quickly gained a leading position in the field.
Product range
Bewator’s products for access control include door entry phones, code locks and access control systems. They are sold as separate products but may also form part of a system tailored to suit customer requirements.
Market/sales
Bewator has annual sales of about SEK 100 million and some 60 employees in all. The proportion of export sales is high at around 50 percent, but is expected to reach 60 percent next year. Currently there are about 350 000 Bewator systems in use.

The company has subsidiaries in Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, the United Kingdom and France, and is represented by distributors all over the world.

Bewator AB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Metric, which is owned 90 percent by Andersson & Benett and 10 percent by individuals in the management of Metric.
