A short history
Partex Fabriks AB was founded in 1948 by Tore Lööf. Its first product was a completely new kind of terminal block which made it possible to differentiate between cables in complex circuits. Production was begun that same year in a small factory called Elektro-Lööf in Gullspång, Sweden. Lööf’s next invention was a fool-proof marking system for cables and systems - the Partex marking system. (The company name comes from the word Part, as in part of a system, and X, which in mathematics means the unknown. The name can be used in any language).
By 1957, the Partex name had become widely known among electrical installers and as the marking system held a greater development potential than terminal blocks, production of the latter was ceased.
Initially, the Partex marking system was only available in Sweden, but with the first order for pre-etched markers from Asea in 1956, the market grew. A new product was added and a number of overseas customers placed orders. Elektro Lööf changed its name to Partex Fabriks AB in 1973. The company is now called Partex Marking Systems AB and has become one of the world leaders on a growing market producing a wide range of standard and customized cable markers and sleeves.
Future
So successful has the Partex concept become, that it is now synonymous with cable marking world-wide. The company has a strong financial position and high penetration on all its key markets. It also has modern production facilities and an advanced level of automation. Product development in affiliated product areas is expected to lead to the company entering new markets.
