New tracking system manages reusable packaging more efficiently

Managing packaging can turn out to be a costly business for a company. The installation of a reusable packaging system often proves to be profitable in less than a year. Nevertheless, ineffectual management of the reusable packaging runs the risk of reducing investment calculations to nothing. Nefab Logistics, the Swedish packaging company, is today launching in Europe a new tracking system for reusable packaging - Track Your Pack. Track Your Pack allows companies to even further optimise management efficiency whilst at the same time reducing costs.

The system is designed with a web interface, which facilitates the work of identifying and tracking each package via the Internet.

"It is perfectly possible to track a package across all five continents with Track Your Pack," states Björn Bjärkvik, Nefab Logistics. "Given that a reusable packaging system can give a quick return on investment, it is very important to have total control of how the system is managed from the outset. Otherwise, the investment runs the risk of not proving to be as profitable as forecast."

According to the type of company, the Track Your Pack system can easily be adapted to suit the particular needs of the client. To help the company make the appropriate decision, a container flow analysis is carried out and this provides the client with the necessary basis on which to choose the ideal solution to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

"Track Your Pack can be used under licence and the client is then responsible for all the packaging logistics. Otherwise, we can manage the process on behalf of the client. Similarly, we can also provide the products that are used for reusable packaging," declares Björn Bjärkvik.
In cases where Nefab Logistics manages the container flow process, the company can also track the contents of each package and clients can set-up joint co-operation pools.

This collaboration enables the company to know exactly where there is a need for a certain type of packaging and where this particular type is available nearby. Moreover, this also minimises packaging delivery delays, which is of utmost importance for subcontractors who have to be able to guarantee the security and the continuity of their deliveries.
