Remote control on steam
Telenor may now offer both global and Nordic remote management and administration services. The Nordic concept means full take-over of administration and monitoring of customers' telecomms, data and image communications from a remote control centre. The global package is based on BT's ServiceView and gives an integrated on-line overview of the total business relationship between Telenor and the customer.
Under the name "Holos 95", Telenor now launches a newly developed concept, offered to customers throughout the Nordic countries. The concept allows centralised administration and monitoring of customers' telecomms, data and image processing from one remote control centre. The system, which has attracted international attention, offers co-ordination of all telecomms and IT-services, a single contact-point and location with total responsibility for planning, installation, operation and monitoring.
Under the Holos 95 concept, Telenor supplies tailor-made systems to customer specifications via a Service Level Agreement (SLA). Telenor defines the SLA to incorporate guaranteed function and service at an agreed price. The service concept is based on two basic elements: basic services including service, support and
training and advanced services including operations and advisory services.
Initially the customer may choose between Outsourcing which means leasing all equipment, programming and servicing from Telenor, or Facility Management, where equipment and programming are self-owned while administration and operational services are leased under a more closely specified service/operations agreement.
Telenor's global package is based on BT's ServiceView and gives an integrated, on-line overview of the total business relationship between Telenor and the customer. Whether Telenor provides the customer with managed data, voice, image or infrastructure services, the customer is offered a single, consistent management tool. ServiceView can provide historical information about service performance, usage and resources. On-line management may be provided at low cost using Microsoft Windows on a PC. Or on-line management through existing industry standard platforms may be provided, including HP Open View, IBM NetView and SunNet Manager. These can of course be mixed to reflect different degrees of management interest. Holos 95 and ServiceView can be utilised individually, or in combination.
