Soil Scout selected as 2015 Red Herring Winner
/INS. Amsterdam, Netherlands – Soil Scout, provider of innovative ground measuring solutions for the agriculture, forest and environmental industries, has been selected as a winner of the 2015 Red Herring Europe award.
Red Herring’s Top 100 has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring’s editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype, Salesforce.com, YouTube, and eBay would change the way we live and work.
“Selecting startups that show the most potential for disruption and growth is never easy,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “We looked at hundreds and hundreds of candidates from all across the continent, and after much thought and debate, narrowed the list down to the Top 100 Winners. Each year, the competition gets tougher but we believe Soil Scout demonstrates the vision, drive and innovation that define a Red Herring Top 100.”
‘We are proud Red Herring recognized Soil Scout as one of the most promising young companies in Europe,’ Jonathan Skelly, CEO, Soil Scout responded.
“Our solution enables customers to easily monitor below-ground environmental conditions, and make informed decisions, regardless of time of year or weather conditions. In the Agricultural sector, we help our customers lower their irrigation water and power needs by as much as 20%. At the same time we can reduce fertilizer loss and potential water pollution from fertilizer run-off.”
“As a Red Herring Top 100 Winner, we’re excited about the opportunity be able to bring our Clean Tech expertise to more customers in many more market sectors.”
