PAF the first in the world to launch an interactive mobile money game
PAF, a gaming company based in the Aland Islands, is the first in the world to launch an interactive mobile money game. Experts in the field believe that in the future it is precisely mobile gaming which will surge to be the major digital gaming industry. - We believe we are the first in the world to bring an interactive mobile money game to the market, says Stefan Pettersson, PAF’s business development manager and head of digital games. The new mobile game is called Joker Poker. The game was developed by EGET, a Finnish provider of digital game solutions.
PAF (Ålands Penningautomatföreningen) brought its first Internet game to the market in December 1999 in close cooperation with EGET (European Game & Entertainment Technology Ltd Ab). Sportsbetting was the first game type offered. Over the years the game selection has increased and now includes around fifteen interactive lottery and casino games. The turnover of these games is today considerably larger than that of sportsbetting.A Java supported mobile phone needed
The first interactive mobile money game launched by PAF is a Java-based application Joker Poker. First, the game needs to be downloaded to the player’s mobile phone. After download, the player gives game commands with the help of the phone buttons. Sending, retrieving and controlling information as well as payment takes place via a GPRS-connection. When the player for example decides to change part of his playing cards to new ones, the GPRS –connection transfers this information to PAF’s game server in the Aland Islands. The server in turn sends the information of the new cards back to the player’s cellular phone. With the new mobile phones the information transfer takes only few seconds.
PAF´s web site is today in Swedish and Finnish but opens soon in English and several other European languages.
Play safely with PAF’s gaming account
For the player to be able to play Joker Poker, he has to have a PAF gaming account and money in his account and in the electronic wallet. In addition to this, the player needs a mobilephone which supports Java technology and a GPRS-connection. PAF guarantees that the Joker Poker game operates on most of the Nokia phone models and also some Sony Ericsson models. A complete list of tested phone models can be found at PAF’s web site.
As a PAF gaming customer you will get Joker Poker easily to your mobile by sending a download command to your phone from our home page. Only few mouse clicks and the game is in your phone!
After this you can play the game by logging in with the same user name and PIN-code you use to play our Internet games, clarifies PAF’s project manager Christer ”Krille” Mattsson.
Joker Poker is an excellent game for mobile
In the Joker Poker game the player can choose the stakes from 40 cents up to the maximum stake of 2 euros per game. The player will be dealt five cards, which he can change once.
- A winner gets the opportunity to play a double playoff round. With the maximum stake and the best possible card combination - straight flush - the player wins 1,600 euros. The mobile Joker Poker game is identical to the Joker Poker game in our Internet site. Joker Poker also stands out to be the most popular game of our gaming services, adds Mattsson.
Joker Poker is an excellent mobile game with 97 percent payback percentage. Still, the game is more well-known for its entertainment value than for its high stakes.
Ten Joker Poker games with retrieval of new cards and few double payoff rounds will cost approximately 15 cents, depending on the telephone operator. One hour gaming session costs around 60 cents.
”Entertaining and easy to use”
We are very proud of the functionality and visual outlook of the game, which we developed in cooperation with PAF. In the Nordic countries the development level and commercial use of mobile gaming solutions is clearly ahead of others. EGET has already earlier delivered a mobile tote solution and mobile scratch cards to two nationally licensed Nordic game operators. Still, Joker Poker is the most entertaining, easy to use and best looking mobile game we have developed so far, clarifies Lauri Gorski, CEO of EGET.
New mobile games to be launched soon
Krille Mattsson continues by stating that PAF will carry on launching new mobile games soon.
The development of mobile games is taking place extremely fast. PAF’s aim is to offer to our customers all the current Internet games also as mobile games.
