Specialists join forces to improve mobile data
Ericsson's Microsoft Mobile Venture development company has established global co-operation with Linq, one of Europe's leading developers of software products for corporate portals.The two companies will jointly run common development projects. One example is the adaptation of the LinqPortal mobile portal solution to Ericsson's Moso technology.
Apart from developing new software components, this strategic alliance also includes collaborative projects aimed at mobile telephone operators and their suppliers of services all over the world. Ericsson Microsoft Mobile Venture will be using components from the LinqPortal platform, which are based on Microsoft technology, in its Moso solutions. Both platforms support GSM, GPRS and 3G.Moso is said to be an easy to use and secure system for mobile E-mail, with calendar functions and other useful information. It also includes advanced solutions that will, for example, enable a project group to share documents and quickly contact project members who may be on the road via mobile telephone or palm-top computer. Moso is based on Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and Microsoft Exchange 2000, along with Ericsson's mobile Internet technology, the package being able to meet the operators' requirements for scalability and reliability. /ins
