Hägglunds Drives AB manufactures large hydraulic drive systems. It specializes in supplying intelligent drive systems based on hydraulic low speed high torque motors.

Product Range
Drive systems comprise four major components - motor, pump, control unit and hydraulic system. Hägglunds Drives is a company that offer tailored solutions to each customer. It has had thirty year's experience of working with a large range of industries.
Hägglunds Drives' main range of motors are designated the Marathon,Viking and Compact series.The most recently developed Compact series of models has been designed in response to customer needs for optimal power and a compact design.The latest in this series is the CA 210 model, which is the most powerful so far introduced in the small-sized format. The motors are augmentation by hydraulic and electrical control systems and pumps.

Markets
The company's drives are found in a wide range of applications within the construction and process industries, materials handling,fishing and marine sectors world-wide. Its products are backed up by a strong maintenance and service organisation that places an emphasis on quality.
Today Hägglunds Drives exports some 30 per cent of sales to the Asia & Pacific region, 20 per cent to North and South America and 25 per cent to Europe. The remaining sales are to the Nordic area.


Organisation
Production of the first drives began in 1966 with the main market for crane production for the marine sector. By the 1970s, the range of applications had grown considerably. Today, Hägglunds Drives has its main office in Sweden with sales and sevices offices in more than 30 countries.

Turnover
In 1996 turnover was 825 million Swedish crowns (SEK).

Future goals
Hägglunds Drives is committed to strengthening its position in key markets through an ambitious investment programme. This encmpasses new product developments, a 150m SEK investment in improvement to production facilities including the introduction of integrated CAD/CAM, building up its distribution network, entering new markets and employee training programmes. A key part of this strategy has been the setting up of Centre of Excellence to provide specific expertise within the company.

Ownership
It is part of the Incentive group, an organisation that has a turnover of 21 billion SEK, and 17,000 employees spread across 200 subsidiaries in 40 countries.
