Smart without painNew ergonomic body-care programme

RFSU Rehab is launching Beauty, a range of body-care products developed specially for functionally impaired people and others who have difficulty reaching. The aids are simple to use and attractively designed.

Stiff joints or painful muscles can make hygiene management difficult. In an RFSU Rehab study, people with joint and muscle pain tested a number of existing products.
"The results were depressing," says Christina Ripe, product manager at RFSU Rehab. "The products were inadequate. The handles were not long enough and the sponges became heavy when they were immersed in water."
The Beauty range has therefore been designed with ergonomic handles and curvatures that follow the body's shape. It is important to be able to reach everywhere without straining or awkward movements.
The body and back washcloths have sponges made of a special material that does not absorb water. All the aids' handles have a friction finish for a firm grip and to sit in the hand properly. A great deal of thought went into development and design.
"As I said before, they must function optimally and be visually attractive at the same time," concludes Christina Ripe.
