High performance mast and tower
systems product line

The demand for easily handled high-technology equipment for defence communications is increasing. Now the Swedish supplier AB Wibe is introducing several newly developed products in response.

A new electrically powered lightweight telescopic mast, TM170, is a further development of the company's traditional mast construction technology. The rigid aluminium mast does not need to be supported by stays, which is why it can be erected in only 20 seconds. According to the manufacturer the hoist system is insensitive to environmental stresses, which enables highly reliable operation.
The special AM100 mast has been produced with the aim of further improving the reliability of operation by means of an integral antenna and reduce erection time. This compact lightweight mast is simple to erect compared with systems comprising several sections. The unit can be handled by one person because the assembly's aluminium casing also serves as protection during transportation.
A range of antenna pointers is launched in which angular motion (360ÝC rotation and ±11ÝC tilt) is provided by a single device in order to save both weight and wind surface.
"Thanks to this technology, there is a full 20% weight saving and 50% less wind surface," says Mats Karlsson, head of AB Wibe's mast division.
