New easily maintained,
heavy-duty soil compactor

The new Tremix MV 440 is a heavy-duty, diesel powered soil compactor designed to compress sand, gravel and stones around house foundations and in pipe trenches. With an operating weight of 465 kilos, this easily manoeuvrable unit is able to compact an area of 24 m2 per minute. The machine offers standstill vibration allowing compacting in tight corners. According to the manufacturer, Tremix AB, a key feature of the MV 440 is its service ability, made possible by the addition of fold-away hoods which provide unobstructed access to the engine, gears and drive unit.

Mechanical accessability is commonly a problem, even
on completely open soil compactors as the protection
bar can get in the way during service. On the MV 440, this has been solved by a two-part, fold-away hood which has the added advantage of protecting the machine from damage caused by dirt, stones and transportation. As it is also lockable, it even protects vulnerable parts, such as the fuel tank, filter and vibration damper against vandalism.
Unlike many other soil compactors on the market today, the V-shaped drive band can be replaced and adjusted on site without the need to use special tools.
A Yanmar L100AE-DE diesel engine with electric start is used to power the unit’s 12 mm thick bottom plate. This is made from an extremely durable steel called Hardox 400 which is said to easily withstand the heavy stress of prolonged operation and require a minimum of maintenance.
The MV 440 comes with an ergonomically designed, dampened handle as standard which effectively stops
harmful vibrations from reaching the operator’s arms causing the painful ”white-hand” condition. All controls, including the start button, warning indicators, throttle and gears have been fitted into the handle which also has
a dead-man’s grip for added safety.
The machine’s forward/reverse gearing and easy manoeuvrability means that it can be used in confined spaces such as when trenching, constructing road paths, etc. The unit can be supplied with an optional exhaust gas diverter to lead dangerous fumes away from the operator when the machine is used in enclosed pipe trenches./ins
