/INS. This year’s winner of the international Swedish Steel Prize is Belaz from Belarus. The prize was awarded for the company’s innovative and new construction for axle suspension and slewing bearings for the world’s largest dump truck. The new construction takes full advantage of the properties of high-strength steel.
/INS. New, innovative solutions, high quality and increased competitiveness characterize this year’s four finalists for the Swedish Steel Prize, the winner of which will be announced at a ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden on November 20, 2014.
/INS. Ruukki, a European steel manufacturer and supplier, is exhibiting its Ramor protection steels at the DVD2014 exhibition in Millbrook, Bedfordshire on 25-26 June 2014. Ramor protection steels are for applications where high ballistic resistance or blast protection is required. Ramor is mostly used for armoured vehicles, doors and systems for transporting valuables. Ramor 450 is Ruukki’s latest protection steel for the manufacture of armoured vehicles and now enables steel for the entire armoured vehicle frame to be sourced from the same manufacturer.
/INS. Ruukki, a leading manufacturer of wear-resistant Raex and high-strength Optim steels, will be exhibiting at the Tip-ex 2014 fair on 29 – 31 May 2014. Use of Ruukki’s special steel products in customer applications translates into more value using less material. For the customer, this means lighter vehicle structures that save energy, reduce emissions and prolong life cycles in applications requiring wear-resistance.
Ruukki can now supply steels for all applications requiring wear-resistant special steels. Ruukki Raex special steel can withstand wear and surface pressure and the range has now been expanded to include the thicker wear-resistant steels needed, for example, in the mining industry. Raex special steel is made in a range of thicknesses from 2 mm to 80 mm.
