AUTOMATION ON STAGE

Elettric 80 is making their concept of automation remarkably clear at the Drinktec fair in Munich Sep 14-19 2009. A complete, fully operational, end-of-line chain will be built, and during the fair visitors will be able to follow the demonstration around the demo plant.

Different beer cans, bottles and trays from various Elettric 80 clients will be handled from the end-of-“production”-line, palletised, stretch wrapped and transported by Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs) to the warehouse area and loaded into a trailer.

The displayed Freeway® system will consist of the following machinery:

The newly developed, specialised palletising robot Dragon for Beverage, will demonstrate its ability to switch between handling cans, bottles and packages of different kinds and sizes, without any mechanical adjustments. Changeover between different products is therefore quick and easy, as is maintenance and cleaning due to its innovative construction. Especially the cleaning procedures have been simplified, and interruptions for cleaning are considerably shorter than those of traditional palletisers.

A stretch wrapping robot, from the series Silkworm, which from the basic version can be extended and complemented to reach a capacity of 180 pallets per hour. Visitors will be able to verify the unique pallet stability ensured by Silkworm wrappers, partially due to maximum pre-stretching.

Two Laser Guided Vehicles; a single pallet reach truck; a Giraffe; which can handle goods as high as 11m, and a counterbalanced truck with collapsible forks for single or dual pallet handling, demonstrating block storage with millimetre precision, and automated trailer loading.

The safety and calmness of the automated environment will be obvious, as the machines will be working within the large stand, where representatives of Elettric 80 will meet the visitors, guide them through the plant and maybe invite for a meet upstairs in the high quality Italian restaurant, set up for the occasion.

Adjacent to Elettric 80, System Logistics will show among other things their equipment for space and time saving picking, which can be perfectly combined with Elettric 80’s systems. /ins
