Swedish control system for hydraulic lifts saves money and improves quality
Half the installation time, higher quality, increased flexibility and reduced energy consumption. This is the idea behind Hydroelite, and new control and drive system for hydraulic lifts from the Swedish company Hydroware Elevation Technology AB. The system is based on the tried and tested Dynahyd drive system, combined with a newly developed, microprocessor-based control system.
All the functions and interfaces in the new control system are installed and tested while still in the factory. According to the manufacturer, Hydroware, this should mean that the time needed to install the system in the lift can be cut by more than 50%. This will also significantly increase the quality of the system, as well as improving ride comfort. The system is also described as being self-learning. When installed, the lift learn itself the hydraulic parameters and where the different floors are."Hydroelite is bus-based and uses microprocessors on each floor as well as on the roof of the lift car," explains Kjell Johansson, MD of Hydroware. "A reduction in energy consumption means that the traffic capacity is doubled without the need for additional cooling."
One attractive feature for people using lifts is that the system does not use any creep speed function as it approaches a floor, but instead brakes gently.
A separate machine room or control cabinet will not be required either.
All the equipment can be installed in the walls of the lift shaft or in the cellar. This means not only a saving in expensive space, but also, according to Hydroware, a considerably lower noise level.
"There are actually traction lifts that work without a machine room," continues Kjell Johansson. "But in such cases it is necessary to install the technology at the top of the lift shaft, where it is often close to bedrooms and can be disturbing. Our technology for hydraulic lifts means that the disturbing section can be positioned as far away as possible from residential or noise-sensitive environments.
The microcomputer-based technology also means that the entire system can easily be monitored via a normal telephone line or using GSM technology, and can be distributed via the Internet.
About Hydroware Elevation Technology
The company develops control and drive systems for hydraulic lifts. Since 1998, almost 2,000 Dynahyd drive systems have been installed around the world.
