Cleaning up building sites and industrial workplaces is going to be made easier by a light but powerful vacuum cleaner which runs off an ordinary 230-V single-phase socket. The PVL 2800 from Pullman Scandinavian AB weighs only 40 kg, but still packs 2.8 kW suction power.  It’s also quiet, with a noise level of only 69 dB(A), which means it can be used without ear-defenders.

‘Up to now, cleaners in this power class have needed 380-V three-phase supply’, explains Matz Ejerholm of Pullman Scandinavian AB at Upplands Väsby, Sweden. ‘This meant they were three or four times heavier, which made them difficult to move and handle on building and clean-up sites. We are expecting these lighter, more powerful machines to sell internationally, and are therefore seeking suitable sales agents in other countries’.

Self-emptying
The electric motor of the PVL 2800 is fitted with sequence control, which offers the combination of high power and low weight. The machine is suitable for dry material such as dust, swarf, and quartz, as well as for cleaning up dangerous substances like asbestos. It can also be used as an extractor for mobile and stationary dust-generating machinery. Despite its small size, it has a self-emptying facility based on air-pulse filter-cleaning.
The machine is fitted with a C-class* filter system, which can be used with a DOP-tested micro-filter*. This means that the cleaner can be used for removing substances dangerous to health, such as asbestos and quartz. The machine has a washable pre-filter, and is supplied complete with hoses and cleaning equipment. This model is part of a new series of self-emptying industrial vacuum cleaners, with motor powers ranging from 1.2 to 7.0 kW.
