The German company Estelit will startlarge scale prefabrication of light-weight concrete elements for partitionwall panels. By installing a highlyautomated production line from FinnishAcotec, the Dülmen based building firmexpects both to lower costs and to beable to target new customer segmentson the German market.

The prefabricated panels will be marketed under the trade name "Estepor Trennwandelemente" (partition wall elements) in Germany. According to the Finnish producer, the costs of non load-bearing partition walls with Acotec panels is approximately 40 percent lower than using conventional bricks and more than 20 percent cheaper than with Siporex/Ytong-element (cp. table).
"The new production site in Germany is an important commercial break-through as it is the first installation in continental Europe. Together with our new automated production systems for statically reinforced panels, we are now able to deliver prefabrication solutions for most house building and landscaping applications", says Vesa Tamminen, Managing Director of Acotec Ltd in Lahti, Finland.
The so-called Acotec Primo line is designed for extrusion based prefabrication of non load-bearing concrete panels. Primarily intended for partition walls and houses, they can also be used for fences, sound barriers, wet areas, industrial walls and other applications. The capacity of the new production line is 90.000 m2 per year, the equivalent of non-bearing walls for approximately 900 house units./ins
