Battery manufacturer, Gylling Optima Batteries AB, is launching a new range of high-performance batteries. The OrangeTop battery is a long-life, robust and maintenance free battery specifically designed for the European automotive market.

This automotive battery exploits the company's ground-breaking SpiralCell technology1 that has made the existing products in the Optima range the natural choice in high performance applications. For example, Optima batteries are used on all Aston Martin Virage, Volante and Vantage cars and within marine and defence applications.
This unique design has several practical and environmental benefits for the car user. The electrolyte is sealed in a closed system so that it contains few components, is robust, maintenance-free and fully recyclable.There is no topping up or checking required and, as the battery does not leak or gas, no corrosion problems.
This is possible because spiral-wound cells replace the traditional flat plates of conventional lead acid batteries. The result is a compact design that can deliver the same level of current as conventional units two or three times its size.
For automotive applications, this adds up to a battery that delivers power, time upon time whatever the driving conditions. In test Optima batteries have a life cycle of between 9-12,000 cycles while compared to around 4,000 for conventional battery designs. For dealers and users, the battery offers a long shelf life. The battery comes with a two years warranty.
The new battery has been developed specifically to meet the needs of the European market."This powerful battery is a strong product with which to mark our entry into the European automotive market," says Bengt Hagander, managing director of Optima Batteries AB. The OrangeTop range will be available in Europe and the company is building up its distribution channels to make it more widely available to the consumer.
