Kemira’s expertise in strength chemistry on display at PAP FOR 2012, St. Petersburg, Russia
Kemira presents its novel strength chemistry solutions for tissue and board makers at PAP FOR 2012, the largest pulp and paper event in Eastern Europe. PAP FOR attracts thousands of visitors interested in the latest technologies in pulp and papermaking, both from Russia, CIS and other countries. The event will take place in St. Petersburg, Russia on October 30 – November 2, 2012.
During the trade show, Kemira will showcase its expertise in water quality and quantity management (WQQM) and fiber chemistry to help papermakers improve their end product quality and process efficiency, and to help them make better use of scarce resources like water, energy and fibers. The main focus will be on the novel strength chemistry solutions for tissue and board production.
“The end use and paper manufacturing processes determine which strength aids are used for board and tissue – dry strength, permanent wet strength, or temporary wet strength”, says Vladimir Grigoriev, Senior Specialist, Applications, EMEA, Paper. “Beyond reinforcing the sheet, some strength aids can play an important role in balancing charge on fines and fibers, providing benefits for improving efficiency of other process and functional additives and improving sheet dewatering.”
PAP FOR features the International Forum PAP FOR Russia 2012 with several key note speakers and topics ranging from sustainability to new technologies and development. Kemira will participate in the forum with a paper “Strength chemistry for board and tissue production: Scientific outlook and end applications”. The presentation will review the fundamentals of strength development and strength aid chemistries as well as the conventional and novel end applications.
In conjunction with the event, Kemira will organize a Tissue Seminar on October 31, 2012. The topics discussed during the seminar include:
• Dial-a-coat™ Yankee coating
• Strength for tissue
• Colorants for tissue
• Green microbiological control on tissue machine
• Fennospec technology improving process efficiency
