THE WORLD’S SMALLEST DRAIN TRAP – PERFECT FOR THE DIY RENOVATOR

The size of the drain trap determines how much storage room there is under the sink – an important factor, especially in small dwellings. Prevex has developed the world’s smallest drain trap for kitchens and bathrooms, which thanks to its compact construction and flexibility is also easy for regular consumers to install. The traps are pre-assembled, which speeds up and makes the installation easier, without the risk of water damage.”

Until now, Prevex drain traps were primarily targeted at industrial customers that make kitchen counters, but with today’s renovation boom there is an increasing demand for easy-to-install drain traps for plumbers and the do-it-yourself (DIY) market.

“We’ve really noticed it in Poland,” says Mikael Lillvik, the company’s CEO. “Today, we are the market leader in the industrial sector and a well-known brand within the Polish construction industry. There is also a clear advantage for stores, since our drain traps are compact and require less storage space than traditional traps.

Lillvik believes there is a market for Prevex drain traps in DIY stores. The products will soon be available on the consumer markets in the UK, France, Germany and the Benelux countries.

“In these markets, consumers have the same need for compact drain traps as in Poland. Thanks to its flexible construction, the trap can be used for drains in the floor or in the wall.”

Minimizes the risk of water leaks

The drain trap is a small, unseen product that normally makes itself known only in cases of water damage.

“The plain appearance of the drain trap hides a lot of engineering. Prevex has succeeded in developing compact drain trap models that guarantee efficient water flow and effective self-cleaning.”

Thanks to successful product development Prevex is a market leader in drain traps in the Nordic countries and a significant supplier to European sink manufacturers.

Ten years ago Prevex had a big breakthrough in the international market. The company got a contract to supply drain traps for all kitchens delivered by a major international company. /ins

Prevex in brief

Prevex was founded in 1955, making it one of the oldest working plastics companies in Finland. The company has made drain traps for kitchens and bathrooms since 1971. When the first version of the compact drain trap was launched in the 1990s, it quickly became a success among sink manufacturers in Finland and the rest of the Nordic countries.

“Since 2000, we’ve tripled production of drain traps and today we make several million units annually.  Most of our production is exported. An increasingly large portion goes to the consumer market.”

First class products are Prevex´s cornerstones. They are a result of active, long-term cooperation with customers.

Prevex belongs to the KWH Group, which produces and markets plastic products and abrasives for the global market and offers international transport solutions. The annual turnover of the Group is EUR 467 million.
