Company Profile

COMPANY PRESENTATION
April 1996
MICRONIC LASER SYSTEMS

Micronic Laser Systems AB manufactures and markets its own in-house designed drawing equipment for the electronic industry. Among other things, this equipment is used to produce photographic masks in the production of high-resolution, flat TV and computer screens. The company is the only one on the market capable of offering laser equipment that can draw large photographic masks (up to one square meter) with great precision.

The company supplies equipment to leading electronic companies in Europe, the U.S.A. and Asia. Customers include Goldstar and Samsung in Korea, Hoya, Sony and Toshiba in Japan, and Philips and Bosch in Europe—as well as a number of manufacturers in the U.S.A., China, and Taiwan.

The company was founded in 1989 when the employees, together with private investors and a Swedish fund for small-sized companies, took over the assets of their company. Today, the company has about 50 employees, twice as many as a year ago. That figure, it is estimated, will be increased by about 20 by the end of 1996.

For the years 1993 and 1994, company’s sales added up to about four million US dollars annually. For 1995, sales rose to 12 million, and for 1996, sales are expected to reach 20 million dollars.
