A range of cabinets for convenient installation of electric, electronic and telecommunication equipment is now being introduced by Finnish Fibox, one of the world's biggest plastic enclosure manufacturers. The range supplements the company's existing some 350 standard enclosures. The new cabinets are manufactured in 13 sizes and of plastic materials such as polycarbonate (PC), ABS and chemically resistant fibreglass reinforced polyester (GRP). A special feature of the Fibox CAB PC/ABS and CAB P range is the hinged internal swing-out door to facilitate easy and safe mounting of push buttons, displays and switches.

According to Mr. Matti Ropponen, marketing manager at Fibox, it is recommended that the customer contacts the company at an early stage of the design process for detailed information about materials, customisation, sizes and other specifications such as Ingress Protection (IP) classes. The various IP classes against e.g. dust and water make the cabinets well-suited for use in practically all industrial plants.
"To make the choice of cabinets and enclosures fast and easy for our customers, we have published detailed AutoCad drawings of our whole product range on CD-ROM (PC), in addition to our traditional printed catalogue. The CD makes it easy to copy enclosure drawings into any design project in DXF, DWG or IGES formats," says Mr. Ropponen.

Swing-out door for instrumentation
The cabinets can be equipped with a rigid inside door in various depths, hinged either left or right, or mounted with quick-turn screws, depending on the cabinet design. The door offers a sturdy surface for control devices such as push buttons and switches. The outside door can be closed or have a window for convenient inspection of the instrumentation.
The Fibox CAB PC/ABS series comes in two versions, one with a latched door that can be secured with a padlock, and one with a double bit key lock door. The CAB P series has a standard double bit lock. Plastic wall mounting lugs are supplied with each cabinet.
All cabinets include optional mounting rails for DIN components with earth bar brackets. Metallic mounting plates or perforated metal plates are also available.
Fibox manufacturing plants are located in Finland and South Korea. The company's distribution and service network covers 40 countries.
