Compact hydraulic pump for trucks
The world's smallest and most powerful piston pump - that's how manufacturers Sunfab Hydraulics describe their new dual flow pump, SC 75/75. They claim it's the first of its capacity which can be directly mounted on a power take off generating twin flows from a single pump. Displacing 75 cm3 per rev through each circuit, yet with a width of only 123 mm, the company feels this pump will meet market demand for high performance and small size.
‘Up to now, it's been a problem in truck hydraulics to generate two separate flows practically and at reasonable cost', explained Mats Sundin, Development Manager of Sunfab Hydraulics of Hudiksvall, Sweden. ‘Two separate pumps are expensive and take up too much room. But with our new SC 75/75 we've been successful in designing a compact, high-capacity dual flow pump that meets market demand'.
The pump can generate two independent flows at a maximum working pressure of 350 bar. At 1,000 rev/min, both flow-rates are 75 l/min, and at the maximum speed of 1,600 rev/min flow-rate increases to 120 l/min. The ISO standard power take off flange, in combination with the small external size, allows direct mounting on most types of power take offs on the market.
Sunfab Hydraulics is a company which develops and manufactures hydraulic piston pumps. It was founded in 1925 in Arbrå, Sweden, under the name of AB Sundins Fabriker, and was originally involved in ski manufacture. Pumps for trucks became part of the product programme in the mid-fifties. Ski production was phased out in 1989 and the company is now totally committed to hydraulic pumps for use mainly in the heavy commercial vehicle sector. The company has ISO 9001 certification./ins
