Magneti drive circulation pump

PRESS RELEASE

Magnetic drive circulation pump for operational reliability under adverse conditions

Circulation pumps in cars, buses, boats, trucks, and trailers are often exposed to grit and grime, extreme temperatures, and high humidity. A pump that is vulnerable to such adverse conditions will eventually break down. Johnson Pump has invested years of research in the design, development, and production of magnetic-drive, seal-free pumps, and the latest result of this extensive R&D commitment is the compact, 100% leakproof, extended service CM10/30.

This high-tech solution to a wide variety of everyday circulation problems provides the high magnetic torque necessary for dependable starting under adverse conditions. It is guaranteed to work reliably at ambient temperatures from -40 to +70ÝC, and will pump water or coolants at temperatures from -40 to +100ÝC.
According to Åke Gustavsson, Chief Engineer at Johnson Pump AB in Sweden, the CM10/30 has been designed to work under severe conditions for extended periods.
‘The pump is rated for 5,000 hours continuous operation, which is achieved by keeping to rigorous technical specifications', he said. ‘Tolerances are tight, the roller-bearing permanent-magnet motor never needs lubrication, and the pump design is a good example of economical, high-quality simplicity'.
Low-friction impeller bearings also contribute to operational reliability and prolonged service life, and it is claimed that the new pump can even run dry for up to 30 minutes without the damage that would occur to a conventional pump under similar circumstances.
‘Operational reliability and low maintenance costs often go hand in hand', said Gustavsson, ‘and that is certainly the case with our new pumps. They have been designed to be almost maintenance-free, and can even stand up to a good hosing down if the user so wishes'.
The CM10, which has a nominal capacity of 10 litres/min, can be supplied with either Ø16 mm or Ø20 mm hose connections, while the larger capacity CM 30 (23 litres/ min) needs the larger Ø20 mm hose connection for optimum function.
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC - radio interference shielding) to EN 55 014 is assured.
According to the manufacturer, the compact, low-weight design also makes the pump a good choice for many other applications that do not require self-priming, such as closed-circuit solar panels, or fresh-water circulation on small boats. The product has CE-marking for quality, safety, and simplicity, and can easily be adapted to meet specific OEM needs on request./ins
